Scrapfish!

Rick has been making what he calls "scrapfish" from scrap metal for some time now. Last year, he was pleased to have the opportunity to create a large scrapfish installation at the home of Scott and Bridget Mayfield of Fish Lake, WA. This piece, along with the Ganesh statue and a St. Francis statue, represent Rick's interest in sculpting larger, more public installations.

This scrapfish guards the Mayfield's brand new shop, and can be seen from the highway!

The Ganesh Project

Rick is currently working on a life-size statue of the Hindu god Ganesh. Right now, he has the head of Ganesh finished and is beginning to work on the body. Ganesh has the head of an elephant and the body of a man. Here are photos of the head as well as photos of Ganesh in his early stages. Rick's Ganesh statue will be displayed at Spokane Yoga Shala this summer!
